Our milk stout brownie recipe

Ingredients

  • 60g semi or bitter chocolate
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 45g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 225g granulated sugar
  • 110g all purpose flour
  • 15g corn starch
  • Pinch salt
  • 75ml MILK STOUT
  • 125ml nuts
  • 125ml semi sweet choc chips

Equipment

  • 30 cm square pan
  • Double boiler

Method

  • Preheat oven to 160 degrees c
  • Grease pan
  • Over medium heat in a double boiler (simmering only) carefully melt chocolate and butter, then stir in cocoa powder
  • Remove from heat and allow chocolate mixture to cool slightly
  • In a separate bowl, using an electric mixer, beat eggs and sugar until thick and fluffy
  • Fold in choc mixture
  • In another large mixing bowl sift together flour, corn flour and salt
  • Add chocolate mixture to flour, mixing well until incorporated
  • Add beer and nuts and gently stir
  • Transfer to prepared pan and bake for 20 – 25 minutes
  • Check after 15 or 20 minutes with a skewer to ensure centre is still moist
